Pioneering technology for the planet since 2009.
With his considerable technical experience spanning from software to semiconductors, SolarPod founder, Mouli Vaidyanathan started his business, Mouli Engineering, installing conventional solar systems. Though he was moved by the industry’s potential to promote clean energy, he immediately realized these traditional systems and their methods of installation may be doing more harm than good. From the raw materials they consumed to the damage they inflicted to the structures on which they were installed, these systems needed a serious overhaul in order to provide real benefit to the planet.
Mouli set to work developing and patenting a racking system that used less harmful materials and required no drill holes, even finding a willing friend to serve as his initial test case. From this proof of concept, SolarPod has grown to represent the gold standard in solar technology. With over 1000 installations completed today: flat roofs, sloped roofs, residential homes, commercial properties, SolarPod has done it all. They continue to challenge the industry status quo by improving environmental impact while bringing their customers elegant, non-invasive solutions. It’s revolutionary solar, made radically simple.
PhD, PE, Mouli has over 20 years of engineering experience in state of the art semiconductor yield engineering, failure analysis, and product design. He earned his doctorate at University of Wisconsin-Madison in Metallurgical Engineering, with his undergrad degree in production engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy. Both degrees were attained with full scholarships.
